Day 3: Barcelona - The Markets and the Food

In Barcelona for half a day today before we head back to Nice.  So what's to do when you have so little time? A quick drive around the city, a marvelous lunch and a little bit of street shopping.

Day 2: Traveling to Barcelona

Day 2: We ready ourselves for our 7 hour drive to Barcelona from Nice.  Snacks packed. Comfy clothes on. Camera out.  The Rhone valley as our back drop is simply breathtaking.  The Pyrenees, as we near Spain beckons to be discovered (which we'll have to save for another trip).  We arrive in Barcelona in the afternoon and we're immediately drawn to the buildings, the grand streets which hint at the immense wealth it once had.  Food was absolutely delicious and the people--friendly and very laid back.

Countdown till Europe: 12 Days to Go

Rain, rain go away...it's been raining for the past whole week here in the Bay Area and we're starting to get cabin fever.  We have 12 days to go till Europe and spent this evening preparing for the trip by heading to the mall and buying the little one more clothes for the trip.  He has become one picky dresser and now only wears sweats and it's a constant struggle to get him into jeans or shorts.  While we will pack mostly sweats, I've managed to sneak in some jeans and trousers for those special dinner's we're planning to have.  For moms out there, do you have any tips for entertainment for very long plane rides?
